Our Story...
We got a little Nut’d.
And turned plants into something indulgent.
Since the early 2020's, founder Juvan Nel found himself searching for plant-based ice cream in the Garden Route where options were almost non-existent. But the craving didn’t go away — for something creamy, indulgent, and worth every spoonful.
So he made his own.
With no machines and no fancy setup, just a love for food, cooking, and experimenting, the first batches were frozen in sheet pans and mixed by hand — over and over again — chasing that perfect texture. It wasn’t easy. But it was worth it.
Because something unexpected happened.
The ice cream turned out rich. Smooth. Indulgent. The kind you don’t expect from something made without dairy.
A few years later, when his partner tasted it for the first time, the reaction was simple:
“This is as good as the real thing.”
That moment changed everything.
What started as a personal experiment became something bigger — a response to a gap, a craving, and a belief that plant-based ice cream should never feel like a compromise.
And so, Nut’d was born.
